Ho-Ho-Ho and a Splash of Holiday Cheer

santaHave a pint or bottle of good cheer while indulging in Christmas ales aplenty at the Black Squirrel this Friday and Saturday (Dec. 6 and 7). A drum roll, please, for those quaffs that will be featured: Great Lakes Christmas Ale (Cleveland, Ohio, 7.5%);  Hoppin Frog Frosted Frog Christmas (Akron, Ohio 8.5%);  Troegs The Mad Elf  (Hershey, Pa., 11%); Delirium Noel  (Melle, Belgium, 10%);  Brasserie Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux  (Tourpes, Belgium, 9.5%); Bell’s Christmas Ale  (Kalamazoo, Mich., 5.4%);  Port City Tidings  (Alexandria, Va., 7.8%); Blue Mountain Barrel House Blitzen  (Afton, Va., 7%); SweetWater Festive Ale (Altanta, Ga., 8.6%);  Scaldis Bush de Noel (Pipaix, Belgium, 12%);  Bison Organic Gingerbread Ale (Berkeley, Ca., 6%);  Sly Fox Christmas Ale (Phoenixville, Pa., 6%); Saint Bernardus Christmas Ale (Watou, Belgium, 10%);  and Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel Solistice Hiver (Montreal, Canada, 10%). In keeping with the tradition of past years, Chef Lauren Whitledge will pass out Christmas cookies to all the good boys and girls.  For the rest of us, in lieu of a lump of coal, Chef Whitledge will prepare a traditional Christmas roast with all the trimmings.
